Privacy Policy
In short: KeyDial collects no data. Everything you store is encrypted on your phone and never leaves it. The app has no internet access, no accounts, no ads and no analytics.
What the app stores
The entries you create (logins, passwords, cards, identity details, notes, authenticator keys and custom fields) are stored only on your device, inside the app's private storage. Before anything is saved, it is encrypted on the device with AES-256-GCM using a key derived from your master password with Argon2id.
Your master password is never stored and never transmitted. Without it, the stored data cannot be read, including by the developer.
What the app collects or shares
Nothing. The app:
- does not request internet access and cannot send data anywhere;
- has no user accounts, servers, advertising, tracking or analytics;
- does not access your contacts, location, camera, microphone, photos or other apps' data.
Fingerprint unlock
If you turn on fingerprint unlock, the key that opens your safe is sealed by the Android Keystore, the secure hardware in your phone. Your fingerprint is checked by Android itself; the app never receives or stores fingerprint data. If a fingerprint is added or removed on the phone, fingerprint unlock turns itself off.
Backups and files you choose to save
When you save a backup, the file is encrypted the same way as the safe and is written only to the place you choose. An unencrypted export is created only when you ask for it and confirm your master password; you are responsible for where you keep or delete such a file. Android cloud backup of the app's data is disabled.
Clipboard
When you copy a password or code, it is placed on the Android clipboard and cleared automatically after the time you choose in Settings. Copied passwords are marked as sensitive so Android hides them in clipboard previews.
Screenshots
The app blocks screenshots and screen recording, and hides its content in the recent-apps view.
Children
The app is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
Deleting your data
You can delete individual entries in the app, or remove all data by uninstalling the app or clearing its storage in Android Settings.
